The Yorkshire Arboretum-
The Tree health Centre
The Scheme creates new space for the proposed Tree Health Centre comprising a classroom, meeting room, staff office area as well as toilets, storage and reception. A lobby links the Tree Health Centre to the existing Visitor Centre and this acts as the entry control space for both students and visitors to the Arboretum.
In creating the new Tree Health Centre, an opportunity has been taken to better address the historic context of the site, with its pathways and views, by creating new improved accessible pathways to the building. This has been achieved through earth banked ramps which offer views and resting places along the route for visitors to the building and wider site.
As well as creating 188m2 of new floor space, reorganising the entrance sequence has created enhanced internal and external public areas.
